Austin Williams is Director of the Future Cities Project, Founder of mantownhuman [Manifesto: Towards a New Humanism], and producer at NBS TV.

He is the author of ‘The Enemies of Progress’, author & illustrator of ‘Shortcuts Books 1 & 2’ (2009) and ‘Shortcuts Book 3’ (2010) and is currently writing ‘Better Cities: Better Life’ (2010). He co-edited ‘The Future of Community’ and co-authored ‘The Macro World of Microcars’.

He has written for a range of magazines and newspapers: from ‘The Times Literary Supplement’ to ‘Top Gear’; from ‘New Humanist’ to ‘The Tablet’.

An architect and project manager by profession, he was the technical editor at the Architects’ Journal; architecture critic on BBC London; and transport commentator with The Daily Telegraph.
